Life is Full of Tough Decisions

There are four thing you can't recover...

1.) The stone... after the throw.
2.) The word... after it's said.
3.) The occasion... after it's missed.
4.) The time... after it's gone.

I want you to look at your thrown stones, harsh words, missed occasions, and wasted time. There are things that happen in life that we wish never would have happened.  If you are to live your legacy, you are not to dwell on them, but you are to learn from them and do everything in your power to make sure they don't happen again.  "Everything in your power" is an important part of this blog message, because there are always going to be things that happen to us.  I'm talking about the things that are in our control.  What goals and expectations are you going to set for yourself to limit or eliminate the four things that you can't recover?

Recently I passed up a event that could have put me in front of 2,000 people who could have potentially exploded my speaking career to a wider audience.  However, a few weeks ago I also promised my son and husband that I would be present for an important family occasion.  I chose my family.  Being a person who choses to "model the way," I chose to keep my promise and give up a potentially great event that could have positively impacted my speaking career.

Did I harbor on what opportunity I may have missed?
Absolutely not!  I congratulated myself that I kept my promise.  I am confident that other opportunities will present themselves because I chose to stay true to my core values.

This week I want you to focus on what is in your control--your words, actions, or inaction. There are many situations that put our decisions and behaviors to the test.  Take a serious look at yourself.  Explore how you will prevent the four things that you can't recover. Focus on what is in your control... your words and your actions!

Get out there and live your legacy to the Nth degree!
